All cannabis products sold in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the raw material used to make them, should be screened for mycotoxins. The presence of any toxin must be shown to be below the allowable limit of 20 parts per billion (ppb) of material.
Certain organisms that may be present or become present during cultivation or storage of hemp can release toxins as a reaction to heat or other perceived threats. Screening all hemp products for these toxins ensures their presence is below a threshold that is safe for consumption.
